Thanks David for the great information. And thanks to all you who post. It is wonderful to get so much personal experiences in one place. I have found that peas have a lot of protein. They also are high in carbs. I eat about of cup of them with broccoli and some tahini & garlic for dinner so the carbs are ok. After going to one of your “here’s” I have decided to add Braggs amino in the mix as well. I am exercising again and have cut way down on the carbs. Weight is coming off which I did not think would happen, as I have been trying to lose with no results. Most important to me is my numbers are coming down. I am not at the place that many of the above folks are, but now have new hope of getting off medication, or at least cutting down. Again Thank you for helping me find a new way to health.

Alcohol: Alcohol can dangerously increase blood sugar and lead to liver toxicity. Meglitinides are oral treatments that work by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin in response to a meal. They work similarly to sulfonylureas, but are safer to use in patients with kidney disease.
The Diabetes Prevention Program conducted a randomized clinical trial over three years and found that diabetes incidence in high-risk adults was reduced by 58 percent after they followed intensive lifestyle intervention compared to 31 percent after taking medication (metformin). Both were significantly more impactful at preventing complications compared with taking a placebo or not making lifestyle changes. All forms of diabetes increase the risk of long-term complications. These typically develop after many years (10–20) but may be the first symptom in those who have otherwise not received a diagnosis before that time.
The first thing to understand when it comes to treating diabetes is your blood glucose level, which is just what it sounds like — the amount of glucose in the blood.
